I had been waiting for this - and boy was it worth the wait. It did NOT disappoint! If you've read any of Stacy Claflin's books before (Gone Trilogy, etc.), you know that Stacy Claflin is the queen of suspense. I had so much fun reading Haunted and was happily surprised by the ending (no spoilers). The beginning is very tragic with Mercy's parents dying - and then it starts to get thrilling when the emo hooded guy starts following her. The author does a great job balancing a fast-paced plot with believable, likeable characters. The book was an easy, enjoyable read. I love the witty dialogue and how everything felt so real - especially with the relationship between Mercy and Kit. I like how their relationship develops, and how supportive he is of Mercy throughout the book, and how she cares for him. I'm usually a big scaredy when it comes to thrillers and suspense - but I was fine with everything in this book and didn't feel it was too violent, even the villain (Calvin) was just that right mix of scary but not horrifying. The ending made me cry (in a good way). I really enjoyed this book - it had a great, fast-paced plot and an exciting storyline, and a lot of heartfelt moments between the characters. Haunted eBook Stacy Claflin Reviews
The first half of the book was great but then it suddenly changed to IDK it was two much I don't want to give it away so I can just say Read it
What an amazing author, and another awesome story! I can't get enough of her books. Don't ever stop writing, your fans are devoted!!!!
I really enjoyed this latest book from Stacy Claflin. Fast paced, well written, a few twists and turns with a dash of romance, makes this book hard to put down. In fact, I read it in one sitting. Can't wait for her next book!
I was shocked to hear that Mercy was a spirit and wanted her and Kit to be together. This book is different from what I normally read but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will read more of Stacy Claflin's books.
Stacy is a great writer of various types of books. I gave this book a 5* because it is a wonderful read for those of you that like paranormal books. Once you start it you simplify can't put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone. S. Durrett
This was an interesting premise; mixing romance, ghosts, reapers, and war all together, and then feel like I just finished a romance. Somehow it worked!
Part one is told through one persons' eyes, part two through a different set of eyes, and part three from third person view. The writer, Stacy Claflin, stayed true to the two personalities in each of their parts. Their action and dialogue were spot on for teenagers.
Using teens is a brilliant way to leave gaps in information the reader wants to know, for teens can be emotional; they get upset, want to be left alone, and stomp off before reader gets more facts. The teen is still ignorant in some areas and so is the reader! We keep on reading as the teens bumble along, with lots of angst, and suddenly the end is near. All is resolved as the narrator ties up the loose ends and it's over.
I was a bit stunned when I realized there wasn't any more. And, disappointed, too. I want to know more about a few things, but will have to use my imagination. The author used hers to write the story and got to lay down the parameters for the book. Now, how am I to know how she would answer my questions?! It confuses me.
It could be I overthink. I will try to stop that. I enjoyed the book and the skill of Claflins' writing. I did find the premise interesting, but have to confess to not reading many books with ghosts. Maybe this is standard fare, but I don't think so. My main gut feeling is of a cleverly done romance. I admire how Claflin drew me in, fooled me, threw in surprises, provided justice, and provided an ending which left me satisfied, and yet curious.
This was a great read that felt like a short story to me. It would interest anyone over a number of genres. I recommend it to anyone who wants, and likes, to read!
Easy 🌟🌟🌟🌟. This had everything I love in a good story. A little bit of creepIness and difficult subjects like death and what happens afterwards and domestic violence but most of all there was love, family and forgiveness.
